Suzanne Phifer Pavitt and Date Night's assistant winemaker, Dr. Gary Warburton, will be pouring the wine next to specially-prepared house-made truffles during dinner service at Brix 1601 in Hermosa Beach on November 19. The restaurant's General Manager Heather Houser, Sommelier Caitlin Stansbury and Executive Pastry Chef Renee Ward collaborated with the winery to devise a uniquely complementary truffle. Suzanne Phifer Pavitt poured Date Night Cabernet Sauvignon next to organic chocolates from from New York-based artisanal producer Veré on October 3 at The Sol Bar at Solage Resort in Calistoga. The specific chocolates were salty caramels, vanilla bean chocolate, and chocolate-almond clusters. Kathy Moskal founded Veré in New York City to be a producer of organic, gluten-free, low-glycemic artisanal chocolates, which are made from 75 percent sustainably grown Ecuadorian beans.
